Dr. Jaikumar is an associate professor at UNC School of Medicine. He specializes in spinal and general neurosurgery. Dr. Jaikumar received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and underwent fellowship training at the Bethesda, Md.-based National Institutes of Health.
His interests include trigeminal neuralgia, brain and spinal tumors, sacral chordomas, stereotactic radiosurgery for brain tumors, minimally invasive spine surgery and complex spinal reconstruction. Dr. Jaikumar has received the Neurosurgery Teacher of the Year award multiple times.
