Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Sang Do Kim of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and The Spine Institute

Sang Do Kim, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and The Spine Institute in Santa Monica, Calif.

Dr. Kim specializes in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, adult spinal deformities, revision spine surgeries and microsurgical decompression of the cervical and lumbar spine among other conditions.

He earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston, completed his surgical internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and his orthopedic residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedics Program.

Dr. Kim completed his spine fellowship under the tutelage of Lawrence Lenke, MD, Keith Bridwell, MD, and Daniel Riew, MD, at Washington University in Saint Louis before moving to Los Angeles and starting practice.

Dr. Kim was the recipient of the Charles Ray Best Clinical Paper at The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery in 2013.
