Dr. Emery specializes in the treatment of cervical spine diseases, clinical neurophysiology, degenerative spine, discectomy, lumbar degenerative disc disease and scoliosis. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and Spine.
“I am pleased to represent West Virginia University as the chairman of the department of orthopedics,” said Dr. Emery, according to the AAOS website. “We are a growing department with a triple focus on patient care, research, and education. I personally continue to have an active clinical practice in adult degenerative spinal disorders such as disc herniations and spinal stenosis, with particular expertise in problems related to the cervical spine.”
Dr. Emery earned his medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. and has completed a spine surgery fellowship at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Cleveland.
