Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Sanford Emery of West Virginia University School of Medicine

Sanford Emery, MD, is a spine surgeon at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown.

Additionally, Dr. Emery serves as a professor and chairman of orthopedic surgery at West Virginia University School of Medicine. He is also the director and treasurer of the American Board of Orthopaedic

Surgery.

 

Dr. Emery is a review for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Spine and Journal of Clinical Spine Surgery. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Association, Scoliosis Research Society and North

American Spine Society.

 

After earning his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C., Dr. Emery completed his residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. Dr. Emery is also fellowship

trained from Case Western Reserve University Hospital in Cleveland.
