Dr. Melikian earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He also completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Emory University in Atlanta.
While at Harvard, Dr. Melikian received the Partners in Excellence Award, and upon graduation he was the recipient of the Harvard Orthopaedic Surgery Thesis Day Award for best clinical presentation for his work on spinal infections.
Dr. Melikian’s areas of interest include cervical and lumbar degenerative spine surgery, lateral-access and anterior surgery, minimally invasive treatments, spinal trauma and tumors.
As a resident at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Melikian cared for victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
