Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Roger Hartl of Weill Cornell Medicine

Roger Hartl, MD, is a spine surgeon and professor at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City.

Additionally, Dr. Hartl serves as the director of spinal surgery and neurotrauma at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center in New York City. He is the official neurosurgeon for the New York Giants.

 

Specializing in complex spine surgery, minimally invasive surgery and computer assisted spinal navigation, Dr. Hartl has authored more than 150 scholarly articles. He recently edited a book on minimally invasive surgery.

 

After earning his medical degree from Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany, Dr. Hartl completed his residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He underwent fellowship training at Barrow’s Neurological Institute in Phoenix.
