Dr. Tatsumi specializes in minimally invasive surgery and artificial disc replacement. He is an instructor for disc replacement and utilizes Zimmer’s Mobi-C and DePuy Synthes’ Pro Disc C and Pro Disc L. He also is an instructor for minimally invasive fusions and performs sagittal plane deformity correction utilizing a lateral-based anterior longitudinal ligament release and Globus expandable hyperlodotic cages.
He received his medical degree from Portland-based Oregon Health & Sciences University School of Medicine and underwent spine fellowship training at the Los Angeles Spine Center. His research has been published in a variety of scientific journals, and he is a spine moderator for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the North American Spine Society and the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery. Dr. Tatsumi was recognized as a “40 under 40” healthcare honoree by Portland Business Journal. He enjoys advancing the field of spine and is working on his fourth spine patent.
