Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. Robert Eastlack of Scripps Clinic

Robert K. Eastlack, MD is a spine surgeon with the San Diego-based Scripps Clinic division of orthopedic surgery. He is a volunteer clinical instructor at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. He also offers his services to veterans at the VA Administration Hospital in La Jolla, Calif. He was a founding member of the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, which was formed in 2006.

Dr. Eastlack is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in the treatment of spinal stenosis, degenerative spine, spinal deformity, radiculopathy, disc herniations, spondylolisthesis and spinal tumors. His clinical interests also include artificial cervical disc replacement surgery, minimally invasive spine procedures and complex spinal reconstructions or revisions.

Dr. Eastlack earned his medical degree at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, San Diego. He has also completed an orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
