Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Richard Berkman of Vanderbilt Spine

Richard A. Berkman, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt Spine Center.

Dr. Berkman serves as an assistant professor of neurological surgery at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville. He previously served as the chief of neurosurgery at Nashville-based TriStar Centennial Medical Center.

Dr. Berkman is particularly interested in complex spine reconstruction. He received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in New York City and underwent complex spine surgery fellowship training at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta.
