Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Philip Schneider of Holy Cross Hospital

Philip Schneider, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Silver Spring, Md.-based Holy Cross Hospital, where he currently serves as the director of the spine center.

He regularly conducts spine-related research and is a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

 

Dr. Schneider has served as a team physician for professional tennis and volleyball teams, as well as golden gloves boxing and high school football teams.

 

Dr. Schneider obtained his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., before completing his residency in orthopedic surgery there as well. He then went on to complete his spine surgery fellowship at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute.
