He’s a spinal neurosurgeon and is especially interested in scoliosis, spinal trauma and tumors. At Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, Dr. Syre is leading a new spine program that launched in January. Part of his work includes hosting monthly spine clinics with interventional pain physician Richard Wolkowitz, MD.

“The goal of this whole program is to get all these surgical cases that were typically performed down in the Springs or Vail and I think we’ve had pretty good luck with that,” Dr. Syre said.

Dr. Syre is also an active volunteer and served in the Peace Corps in South America.
