Dr. Derman specializes in the treatment of degenerative disc disease, spinal deformity, spinal fracture and spondylolisthesis among other conditions.
He was the recipient of the Jean C. McDaniel Award for ethics, professional skill, commitment to resident education and dedication to the community of New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery in 2017.
He earned his medical degree at the Perelman School of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Derman completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at HSS and a fellowship in spine surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
