Dr. Detwiler is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. His hospital affiliations also include East Texas Medical Center Hospital and Trinity Mother Frances Hospital, both located in Tyler.
Dr. Detwiler focuses on brain, spinal and peripheral nerve surgery. His clinical interests include spinal surgery, both minimally invasive and stabilization procedures, general neurosurgery, aneurysms, pituitary and other skull base tumors as well as stereotactic radiosurgery.
Dr. Detwiler earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed his neurosurgical residency at the Barrow Neurosurgical Institute in Phoenix, where he also completed two fellowships — one in complex spine surgery and another in cerebrovascular and skull base tumor surgery.
