In 2009, he performed successful back surgery on Knicks then-rookie Danilo Gallinari. His regular practice focuses on the management of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disorders, with an expertise in complex spine and revision surgery. Furthermore, Dr. O’Leary has an interest in surgical technology and advanced technique.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. O’Leary is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and International College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Cervical Spine Research Society, Scoliosis Research Society and North American Spine Society. His additional focus on research has led him to publish articles in several peer-review journals.
Dr. O’Leary earned his medical degree at University College Cork in Ireland and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery. His additional training includes a spine fellowship at Toronto East General Orthopedic Hospital in Canada.
