Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Michael Brisman of Neurological Surgery PC

Michael Brisman, MD, is a neurosurgeon at Neurological Surgery P.C. in Rockville Centre, N.Y.

Dr. Brisman provides radiosurgery treatments for tumors of the spinal cord and specializes in stereotactic and radiosurgery techniques for treating brain tumors and trigeminal neuralgia.

He is past-president of the Nassau County Medical Society 2011-12 and sits on the boards for the Nassau County Medical Society and New York State Neurosurgery Society.

Previously he served as chief of neurosurgery and he serves as co-director of the Neuroscience Institute at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, N.Y. He is also the co-medical director of the Long Island Gamma Knife Center at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, N.Y.

Dr. Brisman earned his medical degree at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. Following medical school, he completed both a general surgery internship and neurological surgery residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
