Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. Mark Hartman of Total Spine Specialists

Mark B. Hartman, MD, is a founding physician at Total Spine Specialists in Huntersville, N.C. He is also affiliated with Northeast Medical Center in Concord, N.C., and Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. He is a member of is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society and Cervical Spine Research Society. He is also a part of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.

Dr. Hartman is board-certified and he focuses on minimally invasive spine surgery, trauma and tumor care, and he has training in microendoscopic disc surgery and reconstructive spine surgery. His clinical interests also include orthopedic trauma, back injuries, cervical herniated discs, cervical spine diseases, spine disorders, degenerative spine and lumbar degenerative disc disease.

Dr. Hartman earned his medical degree at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C. He completed his residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., and he has completed a spine surgery fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
