Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. John Small of Florida Orthopaedic Institute

John M. Small, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon in Tampa, Fla. He specializes in treatment of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine as well as sports medicine.

He has expertise in endoscopic, microscopic and traditional spine surgery techniques. He utilizes cage technology for lumbar fusions.

 

After obtaining his medical degree from University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Dr. Small completed an orthopedic residency at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He finished his training with a spine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
