Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. John Handal of the Einstein Medical Center

John Handal, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and the director of spine surgery at Philadelphia’s Einstein Medical Center.

His specialties include managing degenerative spine conditions and performing spine surgeries. He takes a minimally invasive approach to his procedures.

 

Dr. Handal began his career at Philadelphia’s Medical College of Pennsylvania. He completed an internship at the State University of New York, a residency at the Einstein Medical Center and a fellowship at Hershey (Pa.) Medical School.

 

Dr. Handal has received many honors throughout his career including being named a Top Doc by Philadelphia Magazine from 2010 to 2014.
