Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Jeffrey Laurent of Jordan-Young Institute

Jeffrey J. Laurent, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon at the Jordan-Young Institute in Virginia Beach, Va.

Dr. Laurent specializes in minimally invasive techniques for complex spine surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, where he also completed his residency. He underwent fellowship training at Auckland Hospital in New Zealand and the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center.

He teaches courses on minimally invasive techniques and participates in new product development and clinical trials. Dr. Laurent is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and John A. Jane Society.
