Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Jeffrey Carlson of Orthopaedic & Spine Center

Jeffrey Carlson, MD, is a spine surgeon and president of the Orthopaedic and Spine Center in Newport News, Va.

Previously, Dr. Carlson served as an instructor at Harvard University in Boston and chief of surgery at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News. He is the first spine surgeon in Virginia to use Synfix Evolution Instrumentation for ALIF spine surgery.

 

Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Carlson is a member of AO North America Spine Faculty, International Association for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and American Medical Association.

 

After earning his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., Dr. Carlson completed his residency at Harvard University. Dr. Carlson is also fellowship trained from Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, both in Boston.
