Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Jahangir Asghar of Cantor Spine Institute

Jahangir Asghar, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Cantor Spine Institute.

Dr. Asghar oversees clinical research as well as ultrasonic and robotic technologies for adult and pediatric scoliosis patients at Cantor Spine Institute. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, and underwent complex spine and spine deformity surgery fellowship training at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.

Dr. Asghar has published more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles and more than 10 book chapters. He is a designated founding member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and is a member of the North American Spine Society, Scoliosis Research Society and International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery, among other professional organizations.
