Dr. Dorward focuses his clinical practice on microsurgery of the brain and spine, spinal cord tumors, spinal vascular malformations, cerebrovascular disorders as well as complex spinal reconstruction. He has won a number of awards, including the Robert L. Grubb, Jr., M.D. Neurosurgical Resident Clinical Excellence Award in 2009.
Dr. Dorward’s research interests include outcomes and value assessment in neurosurgery, evaluation of the role of the vestibular system in the development of spinal deformity and innovations in patient safety. He is an ad hoc reviewer for Neurosurgery, and has had his research work published in numerous prestigious professional journals, including Spine and Neurosurgical Focus.
Dr. Dorward earned his medical degree at the Washington University School of Medicine, where he also completed his neurological surgery residency and a spine surgery fellowship.
