Dr. An is a professor of orthopedic surgery and director of the spine fellowship program at Rush University Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Cincinnati and underwent spine surgery fellowship training at Philadelphia-based Jefferson Medical College, now known as the Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
Dr. An is involved in spinal biomechanics and tissue engineering research. He served as the 2010 president of the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine’s president in 2010 and is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society and Cervical Spine Research Society, among other professional organizations.
