Dr. Yuan is a past president of the International Society for the Advancement of Spinal Surgery, North American Spine Society and Scoliosis Research Society. He’s also a member of the American Medical Association, Orthopaedic Research Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Research Society and more.
He is an extensive researcher and has authored more than 100 abstracts for peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Yuan’s research focuses on degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, bone healing and bone substitute.
Dr. Yuan received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. He completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center. Dr. Yuan then completed a post-graduate fellowship with Leon Wiltse, MD, where he focused on low back and cervical pain.
