He is affiliated with Evanston (Ill.) Hospital, Glenview, Ill.-based Glenbrook Hospital, Skokie (Ill.) Hospital and Evanston-based Presence Saint Francis Hospital. His research, which has been published in Arthroscopy and Spine, investigates the outcomes of different orthopedic surgery techniques. He served as a spine consultant to the Chicago Bears from 2005 to 2007.
Dr. Shapiro earned his medical degree at SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse, N.Y. He went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery, where he also performed a spine fellowship.
