Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Frederico Girardi of Hospital for Special Surgery

Frederico P. Girardi, MD, serves as an orthopedic surgery professor at New York City-based Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Girardi specializes in degenerative spinal conditions, deformity, osteoporosis, fractures as well as cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine tumors. His clinical research focuses on minimally invasive surgery and he is interested in bone, disc and nerve tissue regeneration.

 

After earning his medical degree from Universidad Nacional de Rosario in Argentina, Dr. Girardi completed an orthopedic surgery and traumatology residency at Hospital de Clinicas “Jose de San Martin” Buenos Aires University in Argentina. He finished his training with a spine and scoliosis surgery fellowship at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.
