Dr. Sandhu serves on the board of scientific advisors and the neurosurgical advisory team for K2M. He has an active interest in spine instrumentation and has a number of patents, including one for a stand-alone access system for minimally invasive spinal surgery. His work has been published in a number of prestigious journals, such as Neurosurgery, Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine and Journal of Neurotrauma. He has also co-authored a book called “Decision Making for Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery.”
Dr. Sandhu has received numerous awards over the course of his career, including the Robert Kates Award for Outstanding Clinical and Research Work from the University of Rochester (N.Y.) School of Medicine and Walter R. Nicolai Prize for Biomedical Gerontology Research from the American Aging Association.
Dr. Sandhu earned his medical degree at University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed his residency at Georgetown University Hospital. He has also completed a complex and minimally invasive spine fellowship at The University of Chicago.
