Dr. Transfeldt specializes in treating conditions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He also treats scoliosis, spine deformities and tumors.
A fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Dr. Transfeldt is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is affiliated with American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Spinal Cord Injury Association, North American Spine Society and Scoliosis Research Society, among others.
Dr. Transfeldt earned his medical degree from University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and completed his surgery internship at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, South Africa. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency and his spine fellowship at University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He also completed the John H. Moe Spine Fellowship at Twin Cities Scoliosis Spine Center/University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
