Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Edwin Ramos of The University of Chicago Medicine

Board-certified neurosurgeon Edwin Ramos, MD, specializes in oncological and complex spinal surgery. He serves as an assistant professor of surgery.

Dr. Ramon has authored book chapters on spinal tumors, degenerative spine disorders and complex spine surgery. A member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Dr. Ramos is also affiliated with Congress of Neurological Surgeons and Society of Lateral Access Surgeons.

 

After earning his medical degree form University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, Dr. Ramos completed his internship and residency at Tampa-based University of South Florida.  He then completed his oncological and complex spinal surgery fellowship at Columbus-based The Ohio State University.
