Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Douglas Orndorff of Spine Colorado

Douglas Orndorff, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Durango-based Spine Colorado.

Dr. Orndorff received his medical degree from Aurora-based University of Colorado School of Medicine and underwent spine surgery fellowship training at Madison-based University of Wisconsin. His interests include motion preservation surgery, cervical and lumbar degenerative and trauma conditions, spinal deformity and spinal tumors.

Since 2014, Dr. Orndorff has served as the chairman of the surgery department at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango. He is a member of the North American Spine Society and Minimally Invasive Spine Society, among other professional organizations. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, mountain biking, cycling and fly-fishing.
