Dr. Binder specializes in functional neurosurgery and spine surgery. He is a member of Greater Newport Physicians, an affiliate of Long Beach, Calif.-based MemorialCare Health System. Dr. Binder is an associate professor in the biomedical sciences department at the University of California in Riverside, where he runs the NIH-funded Translational Neuroscience Laboratory.
Dr. Binder received his medical and doctoral degree in neuroscience from Durham, N.C.-based Duke University. He underwent epilepsy surgery fellowship training at the University of Bonn in Germany. Dr. Binder is affiliated with the Society for Neuroscience, the American Society for Neurochemistry and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, among other professional organizations.
