Dr. Fernandez received his medical degree from East Lansing-based Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and underwent spine surgery fellowship training at the Spinal Associates of North Central Florida in Gainesville. Before entering private practice, he served in the U.S. Navy as an active-duty sailor and surgeon.
He has 23 years of spine surgery experience. Dr. Fernandez also serves at Flint-based Hurley Medical Center, McLaren Flint and Grand Blanc, Mich.-based Genesys Regional Medical Center. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors and playing the cello.
