Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. Daniel Resnick of University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health

Daniel K. Resnick, MD, is a professor and vice chairman of neurological surgery as well as co-director, spine surgery program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison. He is a member of American Academy of Neurological Surgery, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Joint Section on Spine and Peripheral Nerves and North American Spine Society.

He has previously served as Captain-Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve and staff neurosurgeon at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.  

 

Dr. Resnick is board certified and his clinical interests include brain and central nervous system tumors, carpal tunnel syndrome, chiari malformation, hemifacial spasms, neuralgia, peripheral nerve, spinal stenosis, spinal tumors, spine fractures and spine trauma. He also has a professional interest minimal-incision surgery.

 

Dr. Resnick also serves as research council director on the NASS board. In 2012, he worked with NASS to begin the pilot program for a national spine registry database, partnered with organizations around the country, including the AANS/CNS Joint Section on Spine, International Spine Intervention Society, Scoliosis Research Society, International Society for Advancement of Spine Surgery and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Resnick earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed his residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
