Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Charles Sansur of U of Maryland Medical System

Charles Sansur, MD, is a spine surgeon and professor of neurosurgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore.

He has experience with spinal deformities, degenerative disease, spinal oncology and trauma, the University of Maryland website said. He often performs surgeries that can’t be done in a hospital and is recognized as an expert spine surgeon.

Dr. Sansur has had multiple publications and received the Baltimore Veterans Hospital Gold Pin Award for excellence in clinical care in 2010, the website said.

He received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and did a residency in neurosurgery at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Dr. Sansur also did spine fellowships at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand and the University of Virginia.
