He previously served as the president of Orthopedic Trauma Association and director of Spinal Fixation Study Group. He has 19 medical patents and has written more than 150 text book chapters and journal articles on spinal surgery research.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Dr. Edwards completed an internship and residency at Yale New Haven (Conn.) Hospital.
