Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Carlos Bagley of UT Southwestern Medical Center

Carlos Bagley, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon and associate professor at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Bagley directs UT Southwestern’s spinal neurosurgery program and leads the multidisciplinary Spine Center. He received his medical degree from Durham, N.C.-based Duke University School of Medicine and underwent spine surgery fellowship training at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Hospital.

He specializes in spinal cord tumors and complex spine surgery. His research focuses on improving patient outcomes, and he serves on the editorial boards of several spine and neurosurgery boards, including the Evidence-Based Spine-Care Journal, Global Spine Journal and Neurosurgery.
