Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Carl Graf of Illinois Spine Institute

Carl N. Graf, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Illinois Spine Institute, a practice with locations in Schaumburg, Ill., and Crystal Lake, Ill. His clinical interests encompass degenerative, traumatic, neoplastic and infectious spinal conditions.

He is affiliated with three hospitals in Illinois, including Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates and Centegra Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock. He is an appointed committee member of the FDA’s Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Devices Panel. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an active member of the North American Spine Society.

 

Dr. Graf earned his medical degree at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill. He went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at University of Illinois at Chicago and a combined orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgery fellowship at Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital in Indianapolis.
