Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Cara Sedney of WVU Medicine

Cara L. Sedney, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Morgantown-based West Virginia University Medicine.

Dr. Sedney is an assistant professor at WVU School of Medicine in Morgantown. She specializes in spinal, thoracic and brain surgery. Dr. Sedney received her medical degree and underwent orthopedic spine surgery fellowship training at WVU School of Medicine.

Her research has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed scientific journals. Dr. Sedney’s research interests include surgical technique-related comparative effectiveness research, patient-centeredness in spine surgery and patient activation in the preventive care of degenerative spinal disease.
