Dr. Massoud is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Spine Surgeons. He has a professional interest in minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery and has performed more than 1,000 minimally invasive procedures. His clinical interests include cervical and lumbar disc herniations, thoracic disc herniations, spinal stenosis, failed back surgery syndrome, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis and infections.
“Because it’s an emerging field, the different surgeons learning and performing endoscopic spine surgery have their own techniques they developed over time,” said Dr. Massoud in a Becker’s Spine Review article. “Taking the experience of a mentor physician who has actually done a number of cases can move the training physician higher on the learning curve before tackling his or her own cases.”
Dr. Massoud earned his medical degree at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, N.J., and completed fellowship training in spine surgery at the Texas Back Institute in Plano.
