Dr. Cohen is board certified, and his practice includes revision spine surgery, adult scoliosis and the treatment of spinal infection and tumors. He also specializes in cervical herniated discs, lumbar degenerative disc disease and lumbar spinal stenosis. He has a special interest in minimally invasive procedures including kyphoplasty, X-STOP and microdiscectomy as well as surgery for spinal tumors.
“The main thing we can do to prevent readmissions is provide better communication with patients,” said Dr. Cohen in a Becker’s Spine Review article. “Really sit down with them for 10 to 15 minutes in their room before they leave the hospital. Go over what they should expect and have a family member present as well.”
Dr. Cohen earned his medical degree at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He completed his residency at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center. He has also completed a fellowship in complex spine surgery at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
