Dr. Sahai has a professional interest in minimally invasive spinal surgery, failed back syndrome, failed laser spine surgery, and comprehensive spinal care. He also performs neck motion-preserving treatments, including disc replacement.
“I think endoscopic spine surgery is starting to become an interesting avenue that we are re-evaluating,” said Dr. Sahai in a Becker’s Spine Review article. “Simple decompressions and microdiscectomies are moving to the outpatient departments at hospitals, so the ASC setting is the next logical choice. I know one-level ACDF procedures are being performed on an outpatient basis as well. I think the biggest opportunity is in simple lumbar fusions. They are promising because if you look at the previous progression of procedures into the outpatient setting, they make the most sense.”
Dr. Sahai earned his medical degree at University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Tufts University in Boston as well as a spine fellowship at Stanford (Calif.) University.
