Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Arien Smith of NYC Surgical Associates

Arien Smith, MD, is a spine neurosurgeon with NYC Surgical Associates.

Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., and completed his residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center department of neurosurgery in Chicago. He also completed a fellowship at the Spine Institute of New York, Beth Israel Medical Center.

 

Dr. Smith is director the neurosurgery and spine division at NYC Surgical Associates and has experience in pediatric deformity and scoliosis surgery.

 

In 2007, Dr. Smith was the recipient of the Novo-Nordisk Resident Research Award on critical care by the AANS/CNS Section on neurotrauma and critical care.
