Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Andrew Paterson of University of New Mexico Hospitals

Andrew Paterson, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Albuquerque-based University of New Mexico Hospitals.

Dr. Paterson specialties include degenerative spine problems, deformities and tumors.

His career began after he earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville (Ky.). He completed a residency at the Albuquerque-based University of New Mexico and his fellowship at Panorama Orthopedic and Spine Center in Golden, Colo.

Dr. Paterson is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.

He is board certified in orthopedic surgery.
