Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. Amir Mehbod of Twin Cities Spine Center

Amir A. Mehbod, MD, is a staff surgeon at Twin Cities Spine Center in Minneapolis. He is a clinical instructor at the University of Minnesota and is also on the board of directors for the Foundation for Advancement of Spinal Knowledge. He is the secretary of the Minnesota Orthopaedic Society.

Dr. Mehbod is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and Scoliosis Research Society. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and licensed by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Examiners.

 

Dr. Mehbod focuses on spinal deformities, conditions of the degenerative spine and spinal trauma and tumors. His clinical interests include disc replacement, cervical herniated discs, lumbar degenerative disc disease and scoliosis.

 

Dr. Mehbod earned his medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. His has also completed spine fellowships at Twin Cities Spine Center and the University of Bordeaux in France.
