Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Amer Samdani of Shriners Hospital for Children

Amer Samdani, MD, is a spine surgeon and chief of surgery at Philadelphia-based Shriners Hospital for Children.

Board certified in neurosurgery, Dr. Samdani specializes in fusionless strategies to treat scoliosis and complex spinal deformities.

 

Dr. Samdani has published over 150 papers and is on the board of directors of the Scoliosis Research Society, Harms Study Group and Children’s Spine Group.

 

Dr. Samdani earned his medical degree and completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore. He underwent dual fellowship training at the Children’s Research Hospital of Philadelphia and with the Scoliosis Research Society.
