Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Alan S. Hilibrand of Rothman Institute

Alan S. Hilibrand, MD, is a spine surgeon at the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia. There he also serves as a neurological and spinal surgery professor.

Dr. Hilibrand is the vice chairman for academic affairs and faculty development for the department of orthopedic surgery at Rothman Institute. In addition, he serves as the institute’s co-director of spine surgery and director of the spine fellowship.

 

In 2015, Dr. Hilibrand served as president of the Cervical Spine Research Society. He currently sits on the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and North American Spine Society’s board of directors.

 

After earning his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., Dr. Hilibrand completed his residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor. He is also fellowship trained from Cleveland-based Case Western Reserve University.
