Dr. Kanter is actively involved in research and is the principal investigator in a number of studies focusing on the use of stem cell-derived biologics to induce spinal fusion. His research interests also include examining patient-derived clinical outcome measures in minimally invasive procedures versus open surgery. His work has been published in a number of professional publications, such as European Spine Journal and Journal of Spinal Disorders & Techniques.
Dr. Kanter’s clinical interests include minimally invasive spine surgery, endosurgical complex spine surgery, artificial disc technology, spinal tumors and experimental therapies for spinal cord regeneration.
Dr. Kanter earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont in Burlington, where he also completed his neurosurgical residency. He has completed fellowships in minimally invasive spine surgery at the University of California, San Francisco and Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand.
