Dr. Manchikanti is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and has a subspecialty certificate in Pain Medicine. He specializes in back pain, joint pain and arthralgia.
“Physicians can get involved with high level evidence studies by designing their own studies or associating with others who do these,” said Dr. Manchikanti in a Becker’s Spine Review article. “They can also associate with industries and obtain funding for the organizations which can sponsor these studies without becoming involved in critical aspects of the study. Pain physicians must maintain independence and avoid bias.”
Dr. Manchikanti earned his medical degree at Osmania University in Hyderabad, India. He completed his residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and his fellowship is anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Dr. Manchikanti will speak on “The 5 Most Important Issues Facing Pain Management” at the 11th Annual Orthopedic, Spine and Pain Management-Driven ASC Conference in Chicago from June 13 to 15, 2013.
