He is a past chairman of the department of orthopedic surgery at Indian River Medical Center and director of the Medical Specialties Surgery Center.
Dr. Benjamin completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He completed a general surgery internship and an orthopedic surgery residency at the Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Benjamin completed a spine surgery fellowship at the Florida Spine Institute in Clearwater.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the NFL Accountability and Care Committee. He is also a member of the North American Spine Society.
