He has served as an assistant professor of anesthesiology at the New England Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Hilgenhurst is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, International Spinal Intervention Society, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is the president of the Tennessee Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
Dr. Hilgenhurst earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed his internship at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s in Chicago. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. He then completed a fellowship in pain management at the University of Cincinnati.
